Maybe for you the term Web Inspector, sounded so foreign. Web Inspector is a built-in feature of the BlackBerry Browser that allows you to check and debug the source code of your web page. And Web Inspector allows you to inspect Web content displayed through the BlackBerry Browser, or a standalone application that uses the browser engine, such as the BlackBerry WebWorks BlackBerry Java applications or applications that use the object browser to open it. You can use the Web Inspector to manipulate the DOM, edit and debug JavaScript code, analyze demand resources, and to audit the performance of web content and web applications.

Here's How To Enable Web Inspector for the BlackBerry Browser in BlackBerry 7:

  • Open the browser application on the BlackBerry Smartphone Simulator or on your BlackBerry Smartphone.
  • After Browser appears press the menu button (BB logo) and click Options.
  •  In the Web Content section display, Checklist / uncheck "Enable Developer Tools". Enabling developer tools (tool developer) will cause the item "Developer Tools" is displayed in the browser menu.
  •  Save the changes you have made by pressing the menu button (BB logo) again and select save, then exit the Options screen.
